Temi Tea Garden
is a rhododendrons sanctuary in west Sikkim and lot of tourist visit when the flowers bloom during March and April every year. It has a good population of Red Panda. Barsey can be explored staying at places like Hilley, Dentam, Okhrey, Rinchenpong and Soreng. There are trekkers hut inside the sanctuary where people can stay overnight. Day trek, overnight trek and even longer duration treks are undertaken depending upon interest of travelers. Kitam Bird Sanctuary
Mainam or Meanam is a wildlife reserve in the South district. Meanam Top is a popular short trek from town of Ravangla. It offers a grand view of the Sunrise and Kunchenjunga. The first wildlife skywalk in India will be constructed at Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary. A rope-way from Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary to a skywalk which will be built over the edge of the Bhalley dhunga. One can now trek from Meanam to Bhaley Dunga now.
The Temi Tea Garden in Temi, South Sikkim, established in 1969 by the Government of Sikkim. It is the only tea garden in Sikkim and considered one of the best in India and in the world for top quality tea produced, which is in demand in the international market. Many European countries and Japan have shown preference for tea produced by adopting organic manuring method.
Kitam Bird Sanctuary near Namchi. The Sanctuary lies between 1200 feet and 3200 feet above sea level. This sanctuary has two rivers namely, River Rangit and Manpur River. Kitam Bird Sanctuary is heaven for bird lovers. Kitam is the only low altitude bird sanctuary and remain open throughout the year. Home to over 200 species of birds, is also known for several beautiful butterflies. Peacocks roaming freely is a common sight inside the sanctuary.
Day 1: Arrival in Pelling (West Sikkim), Transfer from Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station to Pelling. Travel to Pelling: A scenic drive (4-5 hours). Check-in at the hotel. Afternoon: Visit Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins, and the helipad for panoramic views. Evening: Leisure time or a visit to the local market.
Day 2: Explore Pelling Khecheopalri Lake: A sacred lake for both Buddhists and Hindus. Kanchenjunga Falls: A stunning waterfall. Rimbi Waterfall: Another beautiful spot. Skywalk and Sangachoeling Monastery for breathtaking views.
Day 3: Pelling to Ravangla (South Sikkim) Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to Ravangla: A drive (2-3 hours). Check-in at the hotel in Ravangla.Afternoon: Visit Buddha Park, featuring a magnificent statue of Buddha. Temi Tea Garden: Explore the only tea estate in Sikkim. Evening: Explore the town.
Day 4: Ravangla to Namchi (South Sikkim) Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to Namchi: A short drive (1-2 hours). Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station for your onward journey.
Tarey Bhir is a cliff overlooking the lower ranges of the Darjeeling and Kalimpong range of the Himalayas. Located in a small hamlet near Sadam, at an height (3500 ft) but exciting for others who adore natural relief and mountain. It’s along ridge (length 10,000 ft) with a breath-taking view point at the edge from where one can behold Sikkim’s beautiful river valleys and forests. One can see the panoramic confluence of the Teesta and Rangeet rivers from here.

Mainam & Baley dunga Trek
South Sikkim is not as popular among tourist as the North & East Sikkim but has huge potential to attract tourists with numerous attractions and picturesque landscape. From Mainam Wildlife Sanctuary, the only organic Temi Tea Garden, Kitam Bird Sanctuary, Ravangla a small resort town with magnificient views, recently build sky touching statues and temples in Char dham in Namchi, South Sikkim has lot to offer nature lovers and people looking to spend a quite holiday in the Mountains.
Several places in South Sikkim are being promoted by the Govt. as well as local people Borong with a Hot spring, Kitam, Kewzing, Tinki tam, Tarey Vir are some of the villages being actively promoted with many home stays have come up. Of course you can choose to stay at big towns of Namchi or Ravangla where luxury Resorts & Hotels as well as modest budget accommodations are also available. West Sikkim, similar to South district is not as popular yet has some awesome attractions. Pelling however is in most itinerary as there are some great local sightseeing places like the Rabdantse Ruins, Pemayangtse Monastery, Kunchenjunga Falls, Khecheopalri Lake and Singshore Bridge are some of them. Barsey Rhodhodendron Sanctuary is a unique destination where every year lot of visitor come to see the orchid flowers during summer. Kaluk, Okhrey, Rinchenpong, Hilley, Chayatal are all places around the Sanctuary with hotels, resort & homestays. All these places also provide a commanding view of the Sleeping Buddha which is the unique feature of the Kunchenjunga range visible from this part of Sikkim. Of course Goechela Trek to the base camp of Kunchenjunga starts from Yuksom which is a destination where you can experience "Pin Drop Silence". Darap village, Tashi Ding, Legship, Geyzing are places to stay and explore if your are interested in offbeat destinations. There is a Sky walk built with glass floor which ends at a big Buddha Statue in Upper Pelling which give a thrilling experience. Baiguney is a riverside destination on the banks of Rangit River is being slowly developed, also has some luxury resorts with swimming pool for guests.
